Wake up to the sounds of the jungle and seek out some of the continent’s most beautiful tropical species.

What Will You Experience?

Costa Rica is a global mecca for birdwatchers. We will depart at dawn, the exact moment when the forest is most active and vibrant. We will walk very slowly along strategic trails, accompanied by an expert ornithologist guide equipped with a high-powered spotting scope.

You will learn to identify species not only by their plumage but also by their songs. We may observe majestic Chestnut-mandibled Toucans, colorful Scarlet Macaws flying in pairs, trogons, Blue-crowned Motmots, and perhaps the elusive Orange-collared Manakin. A visual delight guaranteed, whether you are an expert or a beginner!

Duration:

2 to 3 hours.

Easy (Slow walks with frequent stops).

Schedule:

Starts early at dawn (Approx. 5:30 AM or 6:00 AM).

Language:

Bilingual bird specialist guide.

What to Bring?

      • 🎒 Personal binoculars (highly recommended if you have them).

      • 🎒 Dull-colored clothing (dark green, khaki, brown) to avoid startling the birds.

      • 🎒 Comfortable walking shoes and insect repellent.

      • 🎒 Host tip: The guide can attach your cell phone to their telescope (“digiscoping” technique) so you can take incredible photos of the birds as if you had a professional lens. Ask them how!

Itinerary:

    • 05:45 AM: Meet in the forest just before the sun gets hot.

    • 06:00 AM: Silent walk, sharpening your ear and identifying by songs.

    • 07:30 AM: Detailed observation in active feeding areas (such as fruit or guarumo trees).

    • 08:30 AM: End of the walk. The perfect time to return to the hotel and enjoy a well-deserved breakfast!
