Piñuelas Beach
A scenic bay with calm waters and a rustic atmosphere.
The best-kept secret among local families.
Why visit Uvita Beach?
It is perhaps the most picturesque and smallest beach in all of Marino Ballena National Park. Its perfect crescent shape acts as a natural barrier against the strong Pacific surf, creating a kind of giant natural pool where the water is usually very calm. It is a favorite spot for those traveling with small children or simply wanting to float in the sea without battling the waves. The landscape is dominated by green hills that drop abruptly toward the sea and local fishing boats that give it an authentic, picturesque feel you will not find on other beaches in Uvita.
ACCESS
Official entrance through the "Piñuela" sector. The road from the main highway is short but steep; caution is recommended if you are driving a very low sedan, although it is accessible for any vehicle.
DISTANCE
It is located 10 km south of the hotel (approx. 15 minutes by car).
Activities
Relaxed swimming (ideal for children), family picnic, snorkeling near the side rocks, and watching artisanal boats.
Amenities
It has restrooms, showers, and a very shaded parking area under the trees right in front of the sea.
Hotel Tip:
- Picnic Day: It is the perfect beach to bring a cooler with fruit and snacks (please remember that single-use plastics are not allowed inside the park) and spend the day under the trees.
High Tide: Unlike Uvita Beach, Piñuela is very enjoyable even at high tide, as its protected bay keeps the waters calm.
Less is more: As it is a small beach, parking capacity is limited. Try to arrive before 10:00 AM on weekends.
