Playa Ventanas
Adventure, sea caves, and dramatic landscapes.
Famous for its stunning sea caves carved through the rock, where the ocean surges in with force, creating a unique visual and auditory spectacle.
Why Visit Playa Ventanas?
Playa Ventanas is small in size but immense in scenic beauty. Its name comes from the imposing caverns carved into the cliff, which you can walk through when the tide is low. It is a bay-type beach surrounded by green mountains that drop directly into the sea, offering a much more dramatic and enclosed landscape than the beaches in central Uvita. It is a unique exploration experience in the area.
Access
Gravel entrance. During heavy rain season, a high-clearance vehicle is preferable, although sedans usually manage well.
Distance
12 km from the hotel (approximately 15-18 minutes south on the Costanera).
Activities
Cave exploration, swimming in calm waters, and cliff photography.
Services
Private parking (fee required), basic showers and restrooms, nearby rustic dining areas.
Hotel Tip:
The Caverns: Entering them is exciting, but always do so when the tide is going out. Never enter if the sea is very rough.
Arrival: This is a very popular beach on weekends. If you are seeking tranquility, we recommend visiting between Monday and Thursday before 10:00 AM.
Footwear: We suggest bringing water shoes or strapped sandals to walk inside the caves, as there are rocks and shell fragments.
